This year, the people of the Twitter-sphere poked at us until we said yes. And we are glad for that poking, because this turned out so great.

    There is a free compilation album waiting for you to download it. It’s full of music from our fav musicians who released albums this year. Nine songs in all. Nine songs you’ll put on repeat and strut around the house to. Nine songs that will slay you. Nine songs…enough already.

    Again, the compilation is free. Our gift to you, our community. The musicians donated the songs, so we would recommend buying their albums as last minute gifts or with that cash your great aunt sends you. Also, if you want to donate to Everyday Joe’s, you can do that too. All donated funds will go towards paying for a new espresso machine. It seems most end up coming back to say hello, if even for just a moment.

    Several of these friends will return this weekend to celebrate the release of their new albums. Josh Dillard is a man we’ve loved sometime, and to be able to celebrate the release of his second album with him is a joy. The Riflemen are people who have stayed and gone, but will all be at Everyday Joe’s on Saturday, April 9.

    Mr. Dillard is releasing his new effort The Whale & The Sea. It’s been in the works for some time now, and it’s streaming into my earholes as I write this, and you should anticipate it hotly. Below, you can listen to a composition from the album handpicked just for you by Josh Dillard himself. Enjoy “Kingdom Built On Sand.”

    Next things next – our friends in The Riflemen. A couple three of these gentlemen have gone on to make up The Sunshine House, while another has moved to Denver and joined A Mouthful Of Thunder, and yet another moved to Houston to work for a small startup business called Shell.

    All those things aside, the band is coming back together to play one last time and release it’s first album…all on one night. Circle of life, like this morning when I saw a hawk swoop down and make a pigeon on the sidewalk it’s breakfast.

    The Riflemen have also handpicked a tune for you…please enjoy “Rocky Mountain Teeth” below. We’ll see you at the show on Saturday (April 9). Cover is $10 at the door, but you can get in with a FoCoMX wristband as well. Start time? 7 pm. You, Me, and Apollo will warm the night up.

    That is Josh Dillard. Do you remember him? He’s a long-time friend of Everyday Joe’s. He’s playing tonight to help ring in 2009. The last year of the first decade. How ’bout it?

Full of some things I’d like not to revisit and other things I still can’t quite comprehend but were wonderful all the same. Great shows. Good people. Nice times.

    The questions is, how do we celebrate the end of ott-eight? Well, with a concert of course. A concert that is free to attend. A concert with a line-up that should never be challenged to a fight, because you’ll just end up being hugged a lot.

    Josh Dillard is back from Florida visiting family and will take time to say how-do-you-do from the Everyday Joe’s stage. The Riflemen are ending their all-to-short existence as a band, and Dec. 31 will be their last show. Paean is Fort Collins’ favorite musical collective and they are still figuring out how to pronounce their name…but their music is enough to tap a foot to.

    The night will surely be grand. See you then. Poster below.

    Four of our good friends -- Aaron Strumpel, Josh Dillard, Dave Wilton (aboyandhiskite), and Phillip Waggoner (The Riflemen) -- got together at Dave’s house and made a nice little video for all of you. Part of what makes it so fantastic could be the fact that Dave, his wife Ally, and their daughter Nora live in an old, renovated Catholic church.
