The Everyday Joe’s Shirt (v 2.0): Thou Art Our Cause

A lot of places have causes. You might even say all do. At most coffee houses it is coffee. At most music venues it is music. It is often making money thru those things. Sometimes the cause is just getting the bills paid and food on the table.

We love coffee. We love music. We love striving to be a model of an ethical, sustainable business. But, all these things are not our cause. They are conduits to our cause. Thou art our cause: our community, our friends, our family. It sounds nice and sappy, but it is true. It is also something we don’t ever want to forget and something we don’t ever want you to forget.

THEREFORE…

welcome to your new favorite t-shirt:

It is regal. It is valiant. It is yellow w/ royal blue nights on the front, holding the shield of our faithful lightning bolts. But wait, there is something on the back of it for you:

Never forget.

The shirts are available now at Everyday Joe’s. $14 even is what they’ll run you (that, you see, includes tax). It’ll look so good on you.

Thanks for your support and for letting us call you our cause. You are good, fine people.

For Sale Soon

Not us. Diner mugs.

We love 10 oz. diner mugs. Love them. Thou wilst too.

The Everyday Joe’s diner mug is an official thing now. It is a cream color. The Everyday Joe’s lightning bolts on one side, “Support Your Local Non-Profit Coffee House” lightning bolts on the other – both in brown.

The lightning bolt logo was first designed based off an old NPR logo we saw. What we didn’t know is that we were unwittingly recreating the Operation Electric logo – the electrical appliance company that occupied the space at 144 S. Mason for decades before we did. The former-owners of that company are our generous landlords. When they saw the logo on our travel mug, they burst with joy. Therefore…we have decided to stick with it.

(speaking of those travel mugs…there are only 4 left! Then they will be gone forever)

These little puppies will cost around the $8 mark, and will come with a complimentary brew from our single-cup drip bar or a loose leaf tea. They should be available Friday morning.

Lightning & Moustache: The Everyday Joe’s Travel Mug

There has been talk for years and years and years ’round here about an Everyday Joe’s travel mugs. Several attempts have been made, all have failed…until now.

We were walking through the tradeshow floor at the SCAA show in April. It was towards the end of our time among the booths. Attention spans had dwindled. Feet hurt. Then we saw something that stopped us dead in our tracks. Then we learned we could add things to it. Then we learned it was affordable. Then these arrived at 144 S. Mason last week:

Those are not two travel mugs, but one: moustache on one side. The Everyday Joe’s lightning bolt logo on the other. Why lightning bolts? This used to be an electrical supply shop. Also, it reminds us of NPR and we like NPR.

More things about these travel mugs:

  • They are double-walled ceramic. Why is this spectacular? The ceramic doesn’t affect the taste of the beverage inside like a stainless steel or plastic mug might. It also means that if you don’t have to go anywhere, you can sit and sip out of a mug.
  • The lids are silicone. Easy to get on and off. Easy to drink out of.
  • The mug and lid are dishwasher safe! Easy to maintain = bonus

By now you most likely want one. There are benefits to having one of these beauties. How about  another list:

  • They are available now for $13
  • You get a free drink with the purchase! Every mug comes with a nice card tucked inside that entitles you to a free drink. You can use it whenever you want.
  • 10 cents off your drink purchase from here on out! Any time you come in and use your Everyday Joe’s travel mug, you’ll get 10 cents off your drink. Epic.

Come and get ‘em. If you live in other locales and want to get your hands on one, just let us know in the comments and we’ll make it happen.

Special Suprise #2: The Everyday Joe’s Shirt (v. 1.0)

Check it:

You know it. They have arrived. And we have the classic “hip” picture to prove it.

The “heart in a cup design” is printed on brown Anvil Recycled shirts. This means they won’t chafe and they eliminate waste:

“Anvil’s recycled fabric t-shirt line is made from pre-consumer fibers and clippings that are collected after the cut and sew process, sorted by color, blended, spun and knit into new fabric.”

The design was screened by our good friends at Vital Industries. You may have met them at the Handmade Militia Spring Market here at Everyday Joe’s. We love them.

The shirts will be available for your purchase starting June 15 at Everyday Joe’s. $12 is the asking price. We only had 35 screened, and once they’re gone, they’re gone. We don’t know if we’ll print this design again, so get them whilst they last.

See you Monday.
