Live From Chicago: Two Things We Stopped Walking To Look At

Ahoy hoy from some coldness…but a coldness that I think I love.

We’ve walked around a lot in this coldness. We have found magnificent pizza (thank you folks at Due). We have ingested some magnificent tea (and made a new friend…Jake we love you and your pastries). We have also seen some gorgeous art on buildings that has stopped us in our tracks.

Take a looky-loo:

The Man

That is a large man.

Give this a how-do-you-do:

Beautiful Masonry

That is a large building. It’s all brick and stained glass and now houses a Bloomingdales…it used to be a shriners temple. We sat on a bench and stared at it while we waited for our pizza to be ready. The aftertaste of that building in our minds probably made the pizza taste better.

Sorry nothing has been posted here specifically pertaining to coffee fest. Probably some of that soon.

love & miss you.

Live From Chicago: Chill Time

Well, we’re here. Chicago. Bitter winds and a lovely high of twenty. I come to you from Intelligentsia Coffee on Randolph Street. So very delicious.

The Second City will be our environment for the next 3.5 days as we attend Coffee Fest. As amusing things come along, we’ll make sure to keep you updated here on Appendix E-J.  Lucky for you, the trip out here held an amusing treat for us.

Ben’s Ginger Ale From The Other Side Of The World

The only time Ben drinks Ginger Ale is aboard aeroplanes. This trip is no exception. Here is Ben & the can he received:

Apparently, Canada Dry is also available in the Asian market…and with a much better slogan – “Chill Time.”

If this  pleasant surprises is any indication of how the rest of this trip will go, I think my head just might explode with delight. How fanciful.
