New SON LUX album…oh my.
The Everyday Joe’s family tree is very extended. It’s roots are deep and it’s branches and twigs are built of many beautiful people we love very much.
Introducing: Son Lux.
Son Lux (aka Ryan Lott) is a part of the extended musical family. If a diagram existed, he could be found by following the Aaron Strumpel branch. That branch would lead you to Kate Hurley, then probably Ben & Robin Pasley, and finally a little off-shoot with Son Lux penned on it – ever so daintily. He could also be found via the Cinematic Underground branch.
After a lot of people waiting patiently for a very long time, Ryan has digitally released (physical release is March 11) his debut album At War With Walls and Mazes (anticon.) I downloaded it this morning (legally, mind you…my internet pirate days are behind me). I am now listening to it for the second consecutive time. Gorgeous.
There is no way to really describe what I am hearing at this time. If you like beats, ambient things, symphonic noises, and words all being used at the same time to gently pound truths of life into your ears & heart…then you’ve found your new headphone masterpiece. If you only like one of those things…then you’ve found your new headphone masterpiece.
Thank you, Mr. Son Lux. Thank you very, very much.
